Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives of OPHP are to eliminate alcohol and drug abuse among pharmacists and pharmacy students through education about chemical dependency as a disease. Educational goals will be addressed through joint sponsorship of programs with the pharmacy organizations, presentations of posters at the state and national level, and the development of a speaker’s bureau including pharmacists in recovery.
In addition to increasing the knowledge of health care administration and human resource personnel regarding chemical dependence as a disease, OPHP will work to assure consistent response to and retention of chemically dependent pharmacists and pharmacy students through the development of a step-by-step guide for intervention to be used by pharmacy directors and/or administrators.
OPHP will also work to serve in a consultative/advisory capacity for the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy on issues related to recovering practice.
You can contact OPHP by calling 405-557-5773 or 1-800-260-7574 ext. 5773
