You may be aware that there are very few publications regarding the history of pharmacy in Oklahoma. Consequently, the OPhA is working to preserve your heritage by publishing regular journal articles about Oklahoma pharmacy history. However, the shortage of recorded knowledge about our past will limit the telling of a more complete story, especially regarding the individuals who have been involved in the development of our profession in the state.
The limited amount of available information is due to several circumstances, including the fact that our predecessors did little to preserve their activities for our sake. Consequently, many of their names as well as their achievements are lost.
To keep this from happening to our current generation of pharmacists, OPhA has published a book intended to permanently preserve the vital information about your worthy efforts. The professionally bound book includes biographical profiles of individual pharmacists, their professional activities and contributions, and historical information on pharmacies past and present.
